Rekt Writeoff is an informational software tool. Nothing it produces — including cost-basis figures, valuations, worthlessness assessments, loss estimates, disposal suggestions, or educational content — is tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice, and none of it is a substitute for a qualified professional who knows your specific situation.
Our outputs are estimates derived from public on-chain data and third-party market sources that can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. Floor prices, sale histories, spam classifications, and cost-basis reconstructions may not reflect reality. Blockchains, marketplaces, and APIs change; some assets cannot be priced or verified. Where we can't confirm a value, we flag it for manual review rather than guess.
Whether an NFT is "worthless," abandoned, or a deductible loss under IRC §165 or other law is a fact-specific legal and tax determination. Our evidence dossier is a starting point to discuss with your tax professional — not a legal conclusion and not a guarantee any deduction will be accepted by the IRS or any authority.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your tax returns and for decisions you make. Always review results with a licensed CPA or tax attorney before acting or filing. We are not liable for tax positions you take, penalties, interest, or disallowed deductions.
We are read-only. We never take custody of your assets and never ask for your private keys or seed phrase. Anyone who does is attempting fraud.
